John Bunyan wrote 60 books during his lifetime and was imprisoned for 12 years for refusing to obtain a “license” to preach. During his imprisonment he wrote his famous Pilgrim’s Progress and other books. Although not officially recognized by any denomination, he was one of the most powerful preachers of his generation.
