Food Fights Some Can Be Fatal

The Bible declares: “Beloved, I wish above all things that thou mayest prosper and be in health” (3 John 1:2). Yet it is a sorrowful reality that so many today have tremendous, often fatal, health problems; most of which could be prevented, reversed, and even cured by following simple Bible guidelines.God promised His people “I will put none of these diseases upon thee, which I have brought upon the Egyptians: for I am the LORD that healeth thee.” However, this promise carries with it the following requirements. “If thou wilt diligently hearken to the voice of the LORD thy God, and wilt do that which is right in his sight, and wilt give ear to his commandments, and keep all his statutes” (Exodus 15:26). God’s instruction is really quite simple: “hearken diligently unto me, and eat ye that which is good” (Isaiah 55:2). The question is: “What is good?” Who is to make this determination? Many would be disgusted to think of eating rats, bats, toads, cats, dogs, monkeys, snakes, snails, etc.; but for many these are considered “good” to eat. If left to an individual or particular culture then live monkey brains, or baby mice dipped in honey and eaten alive, can be considered “good.” As can be seen only God can make a universal determination of what is good or bad and He has given clear instruction on this in His word.Yet, so many today want to argue and fight over the issue of what we eat. Appetite has such control over them that they fall into the category the Apostle Paul referred to as those “whose God is their belly” (Philippians 3:19). The sad reality of this situation is that this passage of Scripture warns that if they continue in this path their “end is destruction.”Whereas food fights can be fun for children, for adults they can be fatal. This little book examines what the Bible says on the subject of food and how many today respond to what God says about food that kills. It presents a thoughtful analysis of the so-called “problem texts” pertaining to this subject that will clarify the confusion and dissolve the delusions.
